the love that would not die

synopsis

‘The Love That Would Not Die' is a zombie puppet musical series, with two episodes now completed.

Episode 1, ‘The Love that Would Not Die’, follows a delusional, alcoholic apocalypse survivor/creator (Stan), his sock puppet dog (Dog) as they try to maintain their sanity after big pharma/tech mogul (Steve) introduces a new pill - the iNodie- designed to keep consumers alive forever. Side effect is that it turns you into a mindless cannibal. Stan has lost his true love, Lydia, to the plague and now watches from his fortress as she eats brains day and night.
Everything changes when a mysterious Kid shows up in an multiverse traveling airstream trailer - a Kid who has a musical genetic disorder that turns any zombie that bites him into a rock star. The first to transform is Steve, who becomes a Marilyn Manson/ Scissor Sisters style zombie. Stan takes the Kid to try and create a cure, but en route they encounter a new rock star zombie - Lydia.

Episode 2, ‘Synthesize Me’ picks up where pt. 1 left off. Stan, despondent and drinking heavily is brought to his senses when Dog puts on a pre-recorded video that Stan has made for just this sort of occassion. Meanwhile, Kid is being tortured and tested by Rock Lydia and the Neon Monster (nee Steve). Stan pulls himself together and fights his way into the old lab. Once there, he and the Kid use a Space Lady record, ‘Synthesize Me’ to synthesize a cure. But too late, Stan realizes he can’t overcome Lydia - only by becoming ingesting the Kid’s blood can Stan become a punk rock star capable of dealing with this superhuman situation.

Future episodes follow our trio as they journey in an inter-dimensional airstream trailer from one apocalyptic Earth future to the next. Each episode involves a new kind of apocalypse - our next episode is one in which the world has been taken over by cosmetics companies- as well as a new puppet technique (world of marionettes, world of underwater puppets, etc). Each episode also features a musical guest (Space Lady, Jessie DeLuxe, etc.)
